Traditional Embera culture

For a small group we can arrange a local site visit to the Embera chami to eat traditional foods, beverages, see dancing and music, and talk with the elders.

These visits are by request only, and arranged in advance when the community feels ready to share culture. You can also drop by as a friend and just share a coffee (tinto) and ask questions with a translator.

We highly recommend asking an elder for a story in their native language, which is a great gift for everyone!

Every visit is a chance to listen deeply and learn from a living tradition rooted in the rainforest. The Embera culture share not only food and music, but also a way of seeing the world—one where respect for nature, community, and ancestral memory guide everyday life.

We specialize in biodiverse ecosystems, protected fairly by locals, and conscious travel. It’s important to us that travelers prepare adequately to have a meaningful experience of connection, cultural exchange, and direct connection with Nature, which is awesome! We 💜 ecotourists!
