Álvaro tells us that he was a sawyer but that he carried out the activity out of necessity until he made the decision not to do it anymore because the trees are what provide humidity. He also tells us that they have met with the community to motivate, coordinate, and raise awareness about not cutting down trees, and avoiding the exploitation of hydrocarbons and mining.

Savimbo is a social enterprise made by, and for, Indigenous Peoples and local communities to access climate markets directly. We stop deforestation and sell six climate products: biodiversity, carbon, tree, and water credits, ecotourism, and agrobiodiversity crops.
